Top Business Schools for Hispanics

If you’re a Hispanic looking for a good business school, you may be worried about issues like diversity, quality of education, and the school’s reputation. Here are the top five US business schools for 2009, as chosen by Hispanic Business magazine.

1. Stanford University, Graduate School of Business – Hispanic students earn 15% of the MBAs. The admissions process places a high value of student diversity, offering helpful information sessions around the country to attract underrepresented candidates. The school places students in nine to 12-month paid internship programs so they can get real life experience. Qualifying students receive a full-tuition grant for two years.

2. University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business - Of the 241 MBA degrees earned, 21 were by Hispanics. The school participates in the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, as well as several other diversity programs. Scholarships are available for gifted students who require financial support. They also offer diversity workshops.

3. University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business –Hispanics earn 12.8% of MBA degrees from the school and comprise 10% of the MBA class. The school is often praised for its student diversity and the quality of talented Hispanic graduates.

4. Yale University, Yale School of Management – Yale has one of the most prestigious MBA programs in the country. While Hispanics make up just 6.2% of the total enrollment, they earn 11.5% of the MBA degrees. The school is associated with the National Society of Hispanic MBAs and organizes Explore Diversity weekends.

5. University of Miami, School of Business Administration –Almost a fifth of the students are Hispanic. Hispanic students earn 21.1% of the MBAs. Praise for its high academy standards, the school is sometimes described as the "Ivy League School of the South."
